It was in September 2018 when Jericka revealed all these text messages. For the same reason, Fager was accused of sexual harassment by numerous women who had worked for him.
While Jericka was reporting the same situation, Fager threatened her, saying:
“If you repeat these false accusations without any of your reports supporting them, you will be responsible for hurting me. Be careful.
“Some people lost their jobs trying to harm me and if you pass on these damaging claims without your report to back them up, that will become a serious problem.”
After these text messages were published, Jericka was admired by the “National Association of Black Journalists” for being part of the Me Too movement.
Fager, however, disagreed with the actual accusations and also revealed the violent messages to Jericka.
Once the reporter informed him of Fager’s response, discussions broke out about the consequences of reporting for the #MeToo campaign. This led to the formation of the #reportingMeToo hashtag on Twitter.
