Jennifer Love Hewitt is getting candid about being sexualized as a young actress.
During an appearance at Inside you podcast, the 44-year-old ghost whisperer The star shared that she once confronted a director who told her to “be sexier.”
She also talked about how insecure she was in general back then.

“I didn’t feel confident in myself,” Jennifer said. “I felt watched. I felt like I had to be everything to everyone all the time. They called me sexy before I knew what it was to be sexy. She was 17 years old on the cover of Maximumand I had no idea why it was on the cover of Maximum…I loved. But why?”
When I was 23 years old and filming the movie. heartbreaker, the director told her: “We just need you to be sexier.” In response, Jennifer took him aside and said, “I don’t know what that means. “I’m only 23 years old.” She recalled that he had to help her understand what she looked like “sexiest.”
The actress also commented on people idealizing her younger self and younger body.
“It’s strange to me when people say, ‘That’s the girl we wanted you to be,’” she reflected. “That girl was so insecure and so confused and she was doing the best she could. But this girl, who may not seem [that] way: I like who I am. I feel good. I’m fine.”
Nowadays, Jennifer doesn’t feel sexy all the time, but she has her “moments.”
She noted on the podcast: “There are definitely moments where I look in the mirror and think, ‘Oh my God, what happened?’ And there are other times when I say, ‘She’s got it.’ She is fine.'”
She recently denied having undergone any cosmetic procedures after surmising that she had undergone a brow lift.
