Jennette McCurdy is getting candid about her struggle with acne as an adult.

Although she has tried many different medications, Jennette has always struggled with her skin since she was 15 years old. She is now no longer sure what to do.
Keep reading to know more…“I’m 31 years old and I’m still fighting (fighting with a capital S) acne,” she shared. “It makes me feel very insecure. OMG guys, this affects my self-esteem in a very negative way. If I have a good skin day, I feel so much better about myself, and they are few and far between. And then most of the time, when I’m really struggling, it makes me feel a little bad.”
Jennette believes her skin problems started when she wore “thick, cakey makeup” during icarly and Sam and cat. “They just put it on and I was like, ‘Okay, it’s the result of just putting on makeup for 12 hours a day, plus bright lights, and it’s just seeping into my pores,'” she explained. “And then the TV shows stopped and I still had acne.”
“I feel like I’m dirty because of my acne,” Jennette said candidly. “It makes me sad to feel that way about myself, but I’m not really sure how not to feel that way.”
The Nickelodeon alum said people may not be able to tell because she’s gotten good at hiding it. She noted, “I know how to find a good shade of foundation and the right application so my skin looks as smooth as possible and isn’t super textured.”
“I guess the only thing I haven’t tried is to just accept it and take ownership of it,” he said on the podcast. “And maybe the reason it’s the only thing I haven’t tried is because it’s the hardest thing to try… You can take another capsule of medicine, you can smear another cream on your face, apply another gel, but this is the one.” more difficult.
