Jameela issued a statement in a post on her Instagram grid that read: “Last night, Hollywood and fashion said the quiet part out loud when so many famous feminists chose to celebrate at the highest level, a man who was publicly cruel to women. . , fat, immigrants and sexual assault survivors. And all the women’s posts and online viewers chose to blithely ignore it.”

She added in the post’s caption: “This is not about cancel culture. It’s not even about Karl. In the comments section, Jameela also responded to fans asking her if she would have really turned down an invitation to the Met Gala.
