Jack Quaid has donned a festive The Boys-themed sweater for the holidays. Quaid has been a main cast member of the subversive superhero series since it debuted on Prime Video in 2019, playing the character Hughie Campbell. Hughie is a civilian who joins The Boys (a vigilante group hellbent on taking down a corrupt group of superheroes known as The Seven) after his girlfriend is killed by A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), a supe who is addicted to drugs and has the power of super-speed.
On the official The Boys Twitter account, they shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Quaid, in which the actor is donning a sweater featuring a Boys-inspired design (complete with Homelander’s signature eagle logo) along with the question “You’ve heard of Hughie on a Buoy, but what about Jack in a Jumper?” In a follow-up tweet, they shared that the sweater was custom-made for the star, but they are looking into recreating the design to potentially put on the market for the general public next year. What’s Next for The Boys in the New Year?
While The Boys has been off the air since the end of season 3 this past summer, 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for fans of the series. For one thing, they are currently filming season 4, which was officially renewed this past June, midway through the new season’s run. The season, which will feature a presidential run that is unlikely to end well, will also see the return of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, a Captain America parody who joined the series this year and was later revealed to have a more intimate connection to one the pre-existing characters than previously imagined.
The first live-action spin-off of The Boys is also preparing to launch in 2023, though it is not the first overall series to be spun off from The Boys. The franchise has already expanded beyond the main branch with the animated anthology show The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which premiered its eight-episode season 1 (featuring cameos from The Boys cast members Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, and Chace Crawford, among others) this past March. However, much more is on the horizon with the series The Boys: Gen V.
The Boys‘ new spinoff will follow a new crop of young supes who are being trained at the Vought International institution Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, loosely inspired by the X-Men parody group known as the G-Men, who were introduced in volume four of the original comic book series. They will be pitted against one another in a Hunger Games-style competition that is sure to evoke some of the bloody and debaucherous fun that the original series boasts. The cast of Gen V will include Lizze Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Shelley Conn, and Patrick Schwarzenegger with an officially confirmed cameo set for Usher to appear as A-Train.
