Rashida Leah Jones was born on February 25, 1976, the daughter of music producer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Jones and Peggy married at a time when interracial relationships were generally frowned upon. They were married in 1974, but divorced in 1990.
In a 1993 interview, famed rapper Tupac Shakur criticized Quincy Jones for his relationships with white women.
