If the name wasn’t a deadly leak, in Monster Hunter Rises, the player hunts giant monsters. Players can hunt alone, with only their AI humanoid animal companions, or team up with up to three other players. This game is most fun when played with friends, but playing alone is equally fun.
Royal Ludrose is one of the monsters returning to the series. This Leviathan first appeared in the third generation Monster Hunter game and it now has more polygons and smoother animations. It’s a terrifying monster to the unprepared, so here are some tips for defeating Royal Ludrose.
Defeat Royal Ludrose in Monster Hunter Rising
Ludros is a “small” lizard-type monster (still larger than the player) that can spray water on the player to deal damage. Royal Ludros are larger and more dangerous than regular Ludros. It has spongy bristles that it uses to keep its body hydrated. As such, it can be found in the waters of the Wetland Forest and Lava Caves.
Its main powerful attack is to spray slime at the player. If the attack hits, the player is hit by a Water Blight, reducing their stamina. To quickly get rid of blight, players can eat Strawberries, so be sure to bring or collect them before battle.
Players should try to attack Royal Ludrose’s Sponge Mane. Not only will this deal a lot of damage to it, but enough hits will break its mane. When this happens, it drops materials and attacks less effectively. Another good option is to attack its head. Finally, its tail can be severed with a bladed weapon. This won’t make the fight any easier, but the player can get the material by carving severed tails, so it might be worth it.
Try taking it out of the water and it will start to dry out. Its attacks lose their effect and visually, its mane loses color and shape. But be careful when attacking it from the side as it can and will try to knock players down.
Any weapon can work against Royal Ludros, so players should choose their preferred weapon. It is weakest against Fire-type weapons, but also works well against Lightning-type weapons. As expected, it is immune to water elemental and dragon elemental resistance. If the player mainly uses either of these, they should try crafting another weapon before fighting Royal Ludros.
Continue to dodge its attacks and deal damage, and soon it will be killed or captured. Players can craft some amazing armor and weapons using materials collected from Royal Ludrose. They may not be the best statistically, but they have a unique look. It’s easier than ever to look better now with the latest update Monster Hunter Rises.
