Himmat Sandhu was born in 1997 (age 22 years; as in 2019) in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh. His family roots are in Tarn Taran, Punjab.

He did his schooling from a school in Lakhimpur. Himmat’s uncle was a singer and after listening to his songs he also developed interest in music. Himmat wanted to become a singer since childhood. He used to participate in singing competitions of his school and received a lot of appreciation from his friends and teachers. After completing 12th, Sandhu came to Bathinda. He joined Baldeep Singh’s music academy and learned the nuances of music for 2 years. Subsequently, he participated in season 7 of the singing reality show “Voice of Punjab” and emerged as the second runner up of the show.
