Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson Recall ‘Crazy Time’ When Eddie and Alex Van Halen Proposed Them

Ann and Nancy Wilson of the band Heart recently recalled a “crazy moment” when Eddie and Alex Van Halen propositioned them.

In a recent episode of The Howard Stern Show, Howard asked the sisters about their experience working with the Van Halen brothers. The sister duo opened “a lot” for them, according to Nancy.

On one of her solo albums, Nancy paid tribute to Eddie.

“Those Van Halen brothers were crazy,” he said. “They were always in the bag, like in the bag.”

“They would start fighting… and then they would hug each other,” he recalled, laughing.

At one point, she mentioned that they even propositioned her and Ann, saying, “Come on! Wilson sisters, Van Halen brothers, let’s do this!

“We never really dated and we had a lot of opportunities in the crazy times we were in,” Nancy said. “In the ’80s, there was a lot of drunkenness and trickery, but they were really solid brothers and great people and musicians.”

“It was fun to meet them and be part of the circus with them,” he added.

On his podcast with the Wilson sisters, Stern mentioned the “famous story” involving the Van Halen brothers asking the Wilson sisters to have a sexual relationship “because you’re sisters and they’re brothers.”

“Sounds like a publicist’s dream,” Nancy responded. “Kind of like the KISS guys, you know, the Wilson sisters and the KISS guys!”

When asked how this proposal came about, Ann said it happened “during a long night of partying.”

“Yeah, one of the many bad ideas of a one night stand, you know, something like that,” Nancy interjected.

Stern joked that it would be great.

“We came together and formed future rock bands,” he said.
