Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her husband Ryan Anderson talk about their plans to have children

While she’s been completely open about her infamous childhood, Gypsy Rose Blanchard says she and her husband Ryan Anderson plan to have children.

During their appearance on Extra: The Podcast, Blanchard and Anderson said they eventually want to start their own family. “That’s always the goal,” Anderson explained. “Absolutely. Absolutely. Now the schedule on when it’s up in the air, but absolutely.”

When asked what kind of mother Gypsy Rose Blanchard would be, Anderson said, “She would be the best…She’s so sweet.”

Blanchard responded, “I think I would be the strictest, though… You would be the teddy bear.”

However, USA Today reports during a recent panel for the Lifetime docuseries. The prison confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Anderson said a baby is not part of the short-term plans. “When we walked through that section, I thought, ‘Keep walking.’ Keep walking. We’re not there yet,’” he said while recalling his recent shopping trip.

Blanchard and Anderson have been married since 2022. They met while Blanchard was serving her 10-year sentence for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. After eight years, Blanchard was granted parole. She was officially released from prison on December 28.

While continuing their chat on Extra: The Podcast, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Anderson opened up about their relationship, which began with a letter.

“I wrote him a letter and told him what his story meant to me,” Anderson recalled. “And at the end of the letter he decided to respond to me. I don’t know if being from Louisiana made her email me back.”

Anderson said he quickly developed strong feelings for Gypsy Rose, including a desire to marry her immediately. “I knew right away that I wanted to marry her, so I snuck into a ring.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard admitted that she got in trouble because he brought the ring into the prison, but that didn’t affect Ryan. “It was worth it because I was able to propose with a real ring,” she noted.

Meanwhile, Gypsy Rose said that despite everything that happened with her mother, she still wanted her to meet Ryan. “There’s a part of me that would have wanted my mom to meet Ryan because he’s so kind and genuine and he loves me for all the right reasons.”
