Gwen Stefani Reveals Why She Won’t Spend New Year’s Eve With Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will not ring in the New Year together next weekend. Instead, they will hold concerts on opposite ends of the country.

Stefani shared her and Shelton’s vacation plans while chatting with Access Hollywood last week. Shelton to star in CBS special New Year’s Eve live: Nashville’s big party. Stefani originally planned to be next to her at the event so she could give her a midnight kiss, but then Sin City called.

“I was going to be at their show and then Vegas called me and wanted me to be in Vegas,” he said. “Last year I went to Vegas and I was like, ‘Remind me not to go to Vegas again,’ because sometimes you just want to have your own, not be the host.”

Gwen Stefani was referring to her December 30 and 31 shows at the Venetian Resort last year. While she said “never again” at the time, she decided she might as well since Blake Shelton would be busy too.

“If you’re going to work, then I’m going to work,” he recalled saying. “I’m just going to fly in and fly out, it’s going to be amazing. I really want to do it”

While the couple won’t watch the ball drop together, they do make it a priority to spend plenty of quality time together throughout the year.

Gwen Stefani and her husband, a field farmer, met on the set of The voice. They revealed their romance in 2016 and said “I do” in 2021. When one of them goes on the road for a tour or show, the other accompanies them whenever possible. They also choose to spend most of their free time together at their Oklahoma ranch with Stefani’s three children; Kingston, 17 years old, Zuma, 15 and Apollo, 9.
