Gurdeep Sangwan was born on Monday, 26 July 1999 (age 24 years; as in 2023) in Adampur Dadhi, Haryana. His zodiac sign is Leo.

Later he started living in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. Gurdeep belongs to a family of Kabaddi players. His father, Sanjay Kumar, is a Kabaddi coach who trained Border Security Force (BSF) players, and his uncle Sukhvir Singh Sangwan was a former Indian national Kabaddi team player. Gurdeep grew up playing Kabaddi with his brother Nitish Kumar under the guidance of his father. Gurdeep and Nitesh watched their uncle Sukhvir Singh Sangwan win a spectacular gold medal in Kabaddi at the 2006 Asian Games, which increased their passion for the sport. Gurdeep studied at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
