Guman Singh was born on Saturday, 5 June 1999 (age 24 years; as of 2023) in Sherpur village, Pataudi tehsil of Gurgaon district, Haryana, India. His zodiac sign is Gemini.
Athletic since childhood, Guman started his journey in sports with street cricket. It was his uncle who encouraged him to leave cricket and pursue a career in Kabaddi. Guman’s speed, flexibility and agility impressed him. His uncle also argued that establishing a career in cricket required a lot of financial investment, which his ordinary family would not be able to afford. When Guman started playing, there was no Kabaddi ground in his village. Therefore, his uncle left some of his agricultural land to develop a Kabaddi ground for Guman to practice. He received training from his uncle for three years. Later, Guman joins an academy with his Kabaddi friend Manish. After this he participated in various tournaments. He suffered injuries to his legs, which led to a decline in his performance. Actually, at that time he had thought of leaving sports and taking up a job. As a result, his uncle called him back to the village and started training again.

In 2019, Guman Singh made his Pro Kabaddi debut for Jaipur Pink Panthers in a match against Telugu Titans during Pro Kabaddi League 7.
He was a part of Patna Pirates’ runner-up team for the 2021-22 PKL. He was recognized as the perfect raider of the match and received Rs. Rs 25000 as price amount during the season.
Guman Singh created history when he emerged as the most expensive player in Category B in the 2022 Pro Kabaddi League auction in Mumbai. This brilliant raider was bought by U Mumba for Rs 1.21 crore for the 2022 PKL. Guman along with raider Jai Bhagwan led U Mumba to a 30-23 win against UP Yoddha in the tenth match of Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 at the Sri Kanteerava Indoor Stadium. Bhagwan contributed six points, while Guman added five points in the team’s success. Both Jai and Guman hit raids to give U Mumba a three-point lead at 5-2 in the seventh minute. During the season, he put in impressive performances scoring 13 points and helping U Mumba defeat Patna Pirates 36–23.
At the 37th National Games Men’s Kabaddi 2023, Guman was part of the Haryana team that won the silver medal after losing the final against Services in Goa.
In the 2023 Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) auction, Guman was bought by U Mumba (FBM) for Rs 85 lakh, making him one of the most expensive players in the auction.
