Greta Gerwig is sharing her nerves as she prepares to start working on the Chronicles of Narnia reboot movie series.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the 39-year-old Barbie writer and director had been tapped to write and direct at least two movies for Netflix based on the C.S. Lewis novels.
If you didn’t know, it was announced back in 2018 that the streaming service had picked up the rights to all seven books, for films and series.
In a new interview, Greta admitted that she’s “terrified” to start working the project.

“I haven’t even really started wrapping my arms around it, but I’m properly scared of it, which feels like a good place to start,” Greta shared on the Total Film podcast.
“I think when I’m scared, it’s always a good sign,” Greta continued. “Maybe when I stop being scared, it’ll be like, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t do that one.’ No, I’m terrified of it. It’s extraordinary. And it’s exciting.”
Later in the interview, Greta opened up about her future career goals.
“I hope to make all different kinds of movies in the course of the time I get to make movies, which — it’s a long time, but it’s also limited,” Greta explained. “I want to do big things and small things and everywhere in between, and having another big canvas is exciting and also daunting.”
Greta recently revealed that she really wanted to two actors she’s worked with before to appear in Barbie.
