In The CW’s Walker: Independence pilot, Matt Barr and Greg Hovanessian (Another Life) will star in the series.

The hour-long new project is a Walker origin story that takes place in the late 1800s and follows Abby Walker, a wealthy Boston woman who witnesses her husband’s murder while they travel the West. Abby meets Hoyt Rawlins (Barr), a charming outlaw looking for a reason to live while on a quest for revenge.

On their journey, Abby and Hoyt stop in Independence, Texas, where they meet some unique locals escaping their own traumatic pasts and pursuing their own goals. In a community where nothing seems to happen, the newly formed family will struggle to adapt to the changing environment around them while acting as a change agent for others.

In Independence, Hovanessian will play Tom Davidson, the new sheriff. Tom has a handsome face for someone you don’t know is ugly. And Abby has good reason to think Tom is a real villain. Tom, who quickly took over Liam, Abby’s late husband, is now a well-known figure in the community.
