Giles Deacon was born in Darlington, United Kingdom in 1969 (age 54 years; as of 2023) and grew up in Ullswater in the Lake District. He completed his schooling from Barnard Castle School in County Durham. After failing Chemistry A-levels to become a marine biologist, she took an art foundation course at Harrogate College of Arts. Later, he completed his formal education at St. Martin’s College of Art, London.

As a designer and entrepreneur
After graduating in 1992, he teamed up with his friend Fi Doran to form the ‘Doran Deacon’ label, while also contributing illustrations to the British style magazine, Dazed & Confused. He collaborated with notable designers such as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Bottega Veneta and Tom Ford. Later, he obtained a loan to set up his own label, GILES, which he launched in 2003. Her first collection, styled by her friend Katie Grand, premiered at London Fashion Week in February 2004. In April 2010, he was appointed. Creative director of French fashion brand Ungaro. Deacon unveiled his first collection for Ungaro in October 2010, which was widely anticipated. However, he ended his collaboration with the brand in 2011. In 2016, Deacon introduced his first clothing collection.
