On Tuesday (Oct. 17), the group of actors, which also included Emma Stone, Ben Affleck and Tyler Perry, met with SAG leaders to discuss a plan to end the strike. Deadline reports.

The proposal involves Hollywood’s top earners helping AMPTP signatories by removing the $1 million cap on membership dues to fund health and other benefits.

Additionally, the actors suggested a formula for broadcast residuals, which would mandate that the lowest names on the call sheet be paid first.

George told the outlet: “Many top earners want to be part of the solution. We have offered to eliminate the dues cap, which would bring more than $50 million to the union annually. More than 150 million dollars in the next three years. We believe it is fair for us to contribute more to the union. We also suggest an ascending residual structure, meaning that the top of the call sheet would be the last to collect residuals, not the first. “These negotiations will continue, but we wanted to show that we are all in this together and find ways to help close the gap in pay for actors.”
