Early life

Huegill was born on March 4, 1979 in Nhulunbuy, Gove Peninsula in the Northern Territory, Australia as Geoffrey Andrew Huegill. His mother’s name is Kanthong Jum Summarta from Chaiyaphum, Thailand, while his father is Ronald Huegill and was a miner.

Additionally, he grew up in Mackay with his older brother, Graeme. Later, he began living with his coach permanently after the death of his father due to a heart attack.
