Fran Drescher Weighs In On How Long SAG-AFTRA Strike Will Last, Slams Disney CEO Bob Iger’s ‘Repugnant’ Comments

Fran Drescher is opening up about the SAG-AFTRA strike and how long it might go on.

The 65-year-old actress is the president of the actor’s guild. As such, she already delivered a speech about the “greedy” Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers while announcing the strike.

She has since turned her attention to comments made by Disney CEO Bob Iger and weighed in on what other actors and fans of Hollywood should expect in the coming weeks and months.

If you missed it, Bob described the thought of an actors strike as “very disturbing” and said that it was “the worst time in the world” for it to happen.

Fran was less than impressed by his comments: “I found them terribly repugnant and out of touch. Positively tone deaf. I don’t think it served him well,” she told Variety.

“If I were that company [Disney], I would lock him behind doors and never let him talk to anybody about this, because it’s so obvious that he has no clue as to what is really happening on the ground with hard working people that don’t make anywhere near the salary he is making. High seven figures, eight figures, this is crazy money that they make, and they don’t care if they’re land barons of a medieval time.”

Speaking to People, Fran weighed in on how long the strike might last. However, she was unable to give a solid timeline and instead said that “there’s no way to predict” what lies ahead.
