Todd Gurley says goodbye to OJ Simpson

It’s not just a figure of speech to say that OJ was one of the most famous people of all time. Whether you were a sports fan or not, “The Juice” was not an unknown name to people growing up in the ’80s and ’90s. As one of the greatest running backs of all time. Simpson’s impact on the NFL remains constant to this day.

Following his passing, former Los Angeles Ram running back Todd Gurley issued a moving statement.

“RIP to the legendary OJ Simpson, your favorite RB, favorite RB… I appreciate you Uncle O/Juice, you will be missed,” he tweeted.

RIP to the legendary OJ Simpson, your favorite RB, favorite RB. I appreciate you Uncle O/Juice, you will be missed, thanks for being on It Is What It Is last year. Heisman, number one pick, NFL MVP and the first 2000 yard rusher, let alone to do it in 14 games, the list goes on and on! 🙏🏾🕊️

Even in his post-gaming career, “Juice” remained relevant. After leaving prison in 2017, he became one of the most popular tweeters. He often opined on the latest current events and often talked about his fantasy football team.

He also became a recurring guest on Cam ‘Ron and Mase’s talk show “It is What it Is,” something Gurley also points out.

“Thank you for being on It Is What It Is last year!! Heisman, number one pick, NFL MVP and the first 2000 yard rusher, let alone do it in 14 games and the list goes on and on! he added.

Cam’Ron supports the controversial decision

Some people weren’t happy when Cam ‘Ron and Mase announced that Simpson would be joining the It is What it Is podcast as a recurring guest. Given OJ’s criminal record, not everyone was in favor of him having the opportunity to appear on television every week.

But despite the backlash, Cam’Ron stood by his decision to employ OJ. He even went so far as to say that OJ is an “innocent man.”

“Everyone wants to continue condemning an innocent man,” he said. “He is innocent. If he was someone whiter, everyone would say ‘Oh, he’s innocent.’”
