While sharing an image of his dive with a videographer and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, Josh revealed that he did not take a second trip on the boat because it did not perform well on his dive.

“For those asking, #Titan did not perform well on my dive. Ultimately I walked away from a great opportunity to film Titanic due to my security concerns with the @OceanGate platform,” he told his followers on Twitter. “There is more to Titan’s history and design that has not been made public, much of it concerning.”

Josh later added that the chance to see the Titanic was a draw, but ultimately not for him or his crew.

“For those who wonder why people dive on the Titanic: the ship has fascinated the world since the night it sank. It is a time capsule to another era of our history. It takes courage to undertake a journey like this. Admiration and prayers for the passengers aboard @OceanGate.”

Another explorer who had the opportunity to ride the boat also talked about what the dive and the boat are really like.
