Erich admitted to breaking up the day after Gabby broke up on DWTS (Dancing with the Stars). On November 15, 2022, Bachelor Nation’s Erich used Instagram Stories to address his divorce from his fiancée. He declared:
“Many of you have reached out to me with questions about Gabby and me. The truth is we were never there for each other [sic] people – it’s hard to pinpoint when there’s nothing to point out.”
Then he said:
“We met in a really unusual scenario and method, and I’m so glad we met.” “I’ll never take that back.”
In season 19 of The Bachelor, Erich and Gabby meet and get engaged. However, during the season finale, the couple split less than two months after getting engaged.

Despite their traumatic separation, Erich does not hold a grudge against Gabby because she is a “wonderful person” and he will always support her. He declared:
“I hope he destroys them in the DWTS finale.”
He even said that after the breakup, he uses his “experiences and failures” to get better every day. Former Bachelor Gabby opened up about her divorce from Erich on Monday’s episode of DWTS, explaining why things aren’t going well between the two. She stated:
“[Love] it holds a special place in my heart as i just went through a breakup. Our relationship ended because we weren’t completely aligned with our shared goals or the way we approach life. We’re not ideal for each other.”

Erich and Gabby first met on the 19th season of The Bachelor. Gabby struggled to find love on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor before joining The Bachelor, but was ultimately disappointed. Gabby is sure that she will meet her ideal boyfriend in “Bachelor”. Gabby falls in love with Erich, a real estate professional, after meeting many potential suitors during a dating show.
Erich confessed his feelings for Gabby and proposed to her during two seasons of the show on September 20, claiming that he “falls in love” with her and “wants to spend the rest of his life” I give her. Gabby accepted the proposal and the couple got engaged on television. Initially, Erich supported Gabby several times on DWTS. Gabby was spotted leaving her engagement ring behind during some dance show taping shortly after, implying that they had broken up.
Before parting, the couple went through a lot of ups and downs. During their relationship, Erich was beaten for wearing a black face in his high school yearbook. He eventually apologized for his previous actions, but it took a toll on his relationship with Gabby. Soon after, Erich became entangled in further controversy when his ex discovered text chats in which he announced that he had broken up with her to join The Bachelor. The former couple finally talked about breaking up.
