Eric Carmen’s career through the years

However, Carmen found even more praise after striking out on her own. She made her mark in the 1980s with a successful solo career, singing classics like “All by Myself” and “Hungry Eyes.”

Carmen personally pushed for the Raspberries to get back together. In 2004, she explained to Entertainment Weekly that she had moved on and so had her bandmates.

“People used to ask me ‘Why don’t you guys get together and play one gig?’ Because you need the same preparation for a good show as you do for a six-month tour,” he told the magazine. “I never wanted to be the guy who put this band back on stage and burst everyone’s bubble and made them go home saying ‘Oh, they weren’t that good.’ Plus, it may have taken this long to forget the drunken parking lot brawl that marked the end of the band. But 30 years have passed and now everyone is an adult, with a life.”
