Encanto’s Mirabel & Turning Red’s Mei Hang Out In Adorable New Art

Disney Worlds Collide, Crossover Fan Art depicting Mirabel Madrigal from Encanto and Merlin “May” Lee from turn red like a friend. Mirabel and Mei are the main characters of Disney animation and Pixar animation, respectively. Both have been released within the past four months, the former in theaters and the latter on Disney+. Both films were well received by critics and audiences, and are recognized for changing the image of Disney’s heroines.

s’s story by Encanto Mirabell (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz) and blush May (voiced by Rosalie Chiang) focuses on them, as young girls of color face some form of family conflict. Mirabell is the only member of her family who doesn’t have a special “talent”, but she is destined to save them all from an impending threat. To say that the fan art about Mirabell and May’s new hypothetical friendship is cute would be an understatement. The deeper implications related to the generational trauma faced by the two main characters make the work particularly compelling.
