Elden Ring Player Proves Magic Dominance By Killing A Boss In One Hit

An Elden Ring player has managed to kill a boss in just one hit in an effort to prove how overpowered magic is. The open-world RPG by FromSoftware has been immensely popular since its release and players have flocked to The Lands Between to uncover all the secrets it may hold. Created by the same developers as the Dark Souls series, it’s no surprise that this title has proven to be just as challenging, with its many powerful bosses and deep dungeons filled with all manner of strange creatures intent on killing.

At the start of Elden Ring, players can choose one of ten different classes in the character creation, each with different stats, weapons or abilities to begin with. However, once in the game it’s completely up to the player to build their character’s stats to suit any playstyle they might prefer. Players could begin with a sword and shield, but then decide to develop their character as a magic-user with a staff. With such freedom in the way someone can choose to develop their Elden Ring character, players could focus on a particular stat, like strength, and raise it as high as they want to see how much damage they can do to an enemy.

One player seems to have proven that magic is the most powerful way to go. GamesRadar has shared a post from the Elden Ring subreddit by user ThatJapaneseMan, showing a video of the Elden Ring player approaching a large boss and unleashing a magic spell that depletes the boss’ health bar in a matter of seconds. The spell – named Terra Magicus – produces a beam of energy that drills straight through the enemy as it desperately tries and fails to retaliate.

There are many large and terrifying bosses to discover and defeat in Elden Ring. This particular boss goes by the name ‘Black Blade Kindred’ and is found quite far into the map of Elden Ring, so should be considered a fairly formidable foe. While some players seeking a more challenging experience might consider the magic abilities extremely overpowered, others might relish the opportunity to make the game a little easier on themselves by taking advantage of this playstyle.

It’s entirely possible that magic was always intended to be the more powerful choice in the game, but it’s more likely that Elden Ring could do with a tweak here or there to level the playing field. Given the number of upvotes on the posted video, it seems a lot of players in the Elden Ring community don’t believe any spell should be so powerful, nor any boss so easy to defeat. It remains to be seen whether the developer makes the decision to reduce the damage of some magic attacks or leave the game as it is.
