Elden Ring: How To Get The Warhawk’s Talon

The Warhawk’s Talon is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring wielded by Bladed Talon Eagles but repurposed for human use. The sword blade is thin and lightweight, allowing Tarnished fighters to deal decent damage with high mobility. Although the armament is not infused with a unique weapon art, it has a special one-handed charged attack that unleashes fast, frontal-moving double swipe. This unnamed move in Elden Ring is highly effective at closing gaps and staggering enemies in PvE. It is easily spammable and can indefinitely stunlock low-Poise enemies. Equipping accessories such as the Axe Talisman will further enhance the damage output of this heavy attack.

To wield the Warhawk’s Talon in Elden Ring, Tarnished warriors will need Strength 10 and Dexterity 16. The armament is innately infused with Spinning Slash, but players can change this skill to any appropriate Ash of War they desire. Likewise, Smithing Stones are the required upgrade material for this Straight Sword.

The Warhawk’s Talon is a rare drop from Bladed Talon Eagles, also known as Stormveil Warhawks. These mobs can be found in Stormveil Castle of Limgrave and on the Dragon Temple Rooftop of Crumbling Farum Azula. However, Tarnished are highly advised to farm the birds in Stormveil Castle. The Azula variants move faster and have a higher HP pool than Beastmen, making them more challenging to kill than most elite enemies.

Elden Ring: Where To Farm The Warhawk’s Talon

There are two optimal locations to farm the Warhawk’s Talon in Elden Ring. The first can be accessed from the Rampart Tower Site of Grace in Stormveil Castle. Many adventurers will likely be well-acquainted with this area during the first few hours of their playthrough. The top of the wall is lined with multiple explosive barrels, and the Stormveil Warhawks will hurl these barrels at Tarnished as they attempt to pass through. Yet, those with effective ranged attacks such as magic or arrows shouldn’t have too much trouble farming this area.

On the other hand, those with more melee-focused builds in Elden Ring are recommended to farm Warhawk’s Talon at the Stormveil Cliffside. Specifically, there’s a small bluff south of the Site of Grace that many might have missed. Here, Tarnished can find several Bladed Talon Eagles that are easier to farm than the ones on Rampart Tower. The drop rate of the Straight Sword is less than 10%, so players are advised to have Item Discovery-boosting items on hand, such as the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot, Silver Scarab Talisman, or Silver Tear Mask.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
