The squad won the Slovenian Cup and a Super Cup in 2007-08. In the 2009-10 season, he took over as head coach of the Al-Arabi club, leading them to the Crown Prince Cup and Federation Cup finals. After a brief stay with the Al Nassr football club in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he returned to his local club.

Nonetheless, he was removed from duty after just 43 days due to a string of bad performances, after which he took over Malavan on a two-year deal. Under his leadership, the team achieved its highest league result since 2005. He worked for Foolad from 2014 to 2016, Khooneh is Khooneh in 2018, Sanat Naft in 2019, and Iran in 2020.
