Dr. Rajith Kumar was born in 1969 (age 50 years; as of 2020) in Kizhuvilam, a village in Attingal, Kerala. He completed his schooling from Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Attingal, Kerala. Later, he completed B.Sc. To complete his studies, Mar joined Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. in Botany. He then completed his post-graduation from NSS College, Pandalam, Kerala. He did a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Cytogenetics and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology. He holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree in Natural Sciences, a Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS), a Master’s degree in Psychiatry (MS) and a Diploma in Vedanta.

Controversy
Dr. Rajith Kumar is a very controversial speaker. He is always in news for making derogatory remarks against women. While speaking to college students in 2013, he said,
Good children are born to men and women who live their lives as men and women. But, when a woman degrades her femininity and a man degrades his masculinity, the girl child born to the couple will have the character of a man. The child she eventually gives birth to will be born transgender.
After hearing such comments, one of the girls present at the program walked out in disappointment. Later, he repeated the same statement while giving an interview to a news channel. The Kerala government has condemned her for making sexist remarks in public.
