Don Larsen was an American athlete and legendary professional baseball pitcher. Don Larsen is famous for playing many outstanding matches with different teams. Furthermore, the highlight of his career was when he pitched a perfect game in MLB history in the 1956 World Series and became the only player to pitch a perfect game in a World Series.
Early life
Don was born on August 7, 1929, in Michigan City, Indiana, United States of America. His full name was Donald James Larsen. His parents are James Larsen, who worked as a department store salesman, and Charlotte Larsen, who was a housekeeper. His parents even had another child, his brother. He had American nationality and belonged to a Christian family. Astrologically, Leo is his star and belongs to Caucasian ethnicity.
Giving an idea of his educational status, he attended Point Loma High School. He was active as a baseball and basketball player. He was even selected to the All-Metro Conference team as a basketball player. There were several college scholarship offers on the desk, but he chose to play against one of St. Louis Brown’s teams after being carefully selected by his scouting team. He later clarified that the decision was made since he was never much with the studies.
Death
The American baseball legend died on January 1, 2020, in Hayden Idaho. He died at the age of 90. According to multiple reports, his family claimed that the cause of his death was esophageal cancer.
Professional life
Regarding his profession, Don was a former American pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). After completing his studies, he focused entirely on baseball. He began his professional career with the Aberdeen Pheasants of the Class-C Northern League in 1947. The career continued with the Globe-Miami Browns of the Class-C Arizona-Texas League in 1949. He continued to promote better teams such as the Class-B with Springfield. Browns in 1950 and Class A Western League with the Wichita Indians in the late 1950s. He spent 2 years, from 1951 to 1953, in the Korean War for the United States Army.

During his 15-year MLB career, he pitched for seven different teams from 1953 to 1967. To enlist the team he had been associated with, they were; St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles (1953–54; 1965), New York Yankees (1955–59), Kansas City Athletics (1960–1961), Chicago White Sox (1961), San Francisco Giants (1962– 64), Houston Colt .45/Houston Astros (1964–65) and Chicago Cubs (1967). In 1956, he pitched the sixth perfect game in MLB history. Based on results to date, the record is the only no-hitter or perfect game in World Series history and is one of only two no-hitters in MLB postseason history.

Don Larsen later married another woman named Corrine Bruess on December 7, 1957. She was a flight attendant from Minnesota. They even have a boy named Scott.
