Dolly Parton opens up about how she reacted to Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.”
The 77-year-old country legend, who is also Miley’s godmother, revealed on the Wrecking Ball 10 podcast, via Billboard, what happened when she heard it for the first time and compared the song to another infamous one.

Speaking to the podcast, which celebrates the song’s release 10 years later, Dolly recalled how she almost crashed a car and how it reminded her of Whitney Houston’s performance of her song, “I Will Always Love You.”
“I remember the first time I heard ‘Wrecking Ball’. It hit me in the same way as the first time I heard Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You,'” he shared.
Dolly added: “I was driving, I heard that and I almost crashed. And when I heard ‘Wrecking Ball’, I almost broke down again! I thought when that chorus started, I thought it hit me like a wrecking ball. I thought, ‘Well, how good can a song be?'”
Recently, Miley reflected on the song and the heated dispute with a late singer who accompanied it.
