Dhruv Kapila started playing badminton at the age of eight. In 2011, when he was ten years old, he was sent to the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, where he trained under coach Pullela Gopichand. He trained at the academy throughout the year and met his family once a year. He has 3 runner-up finishes in the BWF (Badminton World Federation) Junior International Challenge. As of 2023, Dhruv has won 2 titles and 3 runner-up finishes in the BWF International Challenge/Series and 1 title in the BWF World Tour. Dhruv was an integral part of the Indian team’s victory in the 2022 Thomas Cup.
