Dipendra Singh Airi is a Nepalese cricketer who has made many records for Nepal in national and international tournaments. He came into limelight by scoring the fastest T20I half-century in September 2023. He is considered one of the best Nepali middle-order players.

Dipendra Singh Airi was born in Gajjar, Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, Nepal. According to one source, he was born on Thursday, August 12, 1999 (age 24 years; as of 2023), and according to another source, he was born on Monday, January 24, 2000 (age 23 years; as of 2023). He did his schooling from Cosmopolitan English Medium School, Bhimdutt Nagar. He later studied at Far-Western University, Mahendranagar.
He was interested in cricket since childhood and played his first school-level competition organized by Private and Boarding Schools Organization of Nepal (PABSON) while studying in 7th standard. He wanted to become a soldier when he grew up and his parents also did not want him to play cricket; However, when he was studying in 11th grade, he received an invitation to play in the Nepal Premier League, which he accepted and did not appear for the final examination. Later he made his career in cricket.

Deependra made his List A (ODI) cricket debut on 11 March 2018 against Kenya. He made his first-class debut on 6 November 2019 against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). He played for Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the Prime Minister’s Cup and Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup in 2022.

Controversy
Code of Conduct violation
In November 2019, Dipendra Singh Airi was appointed the vice-captain of the Nepal cricket team. In 2021, he expressed dissatisfaction over his central contract and grading along with three other players namely Gyanendra Mall, Kamal Singh Airi and Sompal Kami. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) asked him to clarify, which he did; However, CAN was not satisfied with the explanation and removed Deependra from the vice-captaincy on 15 December 2021 and also said that these players will not be offered central contracts for the first six months of 2022.
Cain said the players had breached the code of conduct by defaming the board and said,
The players have signed a code of conduct with CAN but they did not follow it. According to Article 3.3.1 of the Code, players must not make any statements in the media that bring disrepute to the game, the ACC, the ICC, the Board or officials.
