Dead by Daylight: New Resident Evil & Attack on Titan Content Revealed

The next Dead by Daylight chapter will introduce a new monster, survivor and map alongside another Resident Evil crossover event and Attack on Titan cosmetic items. The asymmetric survival horror game casts one player as a supernatural killer while a group of rival players fight to survive as human survivors. The addition of more Resident Evil characters to Dead by Daylight was recently leaked, and now another collaboration has been officially confirmed.

Credited with popularizing the asymmetric multiplayer genre, Dead by Daylight has received a number of updates and expansions since its launch in 2016. The game includes a large lineup of original killers and survivors, like The Trapper and The Huntress, but it has also become well-known for its crossovers with other horror franchises. Dead by Daylight has collaborated with other iconic survival horror franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, adding both protagonists and antagonists from these popular titles. Cinematic crossover killers like Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Leatherface have also been added, with events like the Saw event in Dead by Daylight adding these legendary monsters alongside memorable survivors from their respective series.

A recent Dead by Daylight livestream, posted to YouTube, reveals a roadmap for the asymmetric survival game’s seventh year of content. During the sixth anniversary livestream Behaviour Interactive introduced Chapter 24: Roots of Dread, an original chapter that will introduce a new killer, survivor and map. The chapter’s new monster, The Dredge, takes the form of a disgusting mass of moving flesh capable of teleporting between lockers. Meanwhile, survivor Haddie Kaur is a paranormally-sensitive adventurer with perks based around sensing evil. Finally, the new Gardens of Joy map takes the form of a seemingly normal house with a twisted eldritch interior.

Alongside original creations, two new Dead by Daylight crossovers will bring exciting new content throughout the game’s seventh year. An upcoming Attack on Titan crossover will introduce new cosmetics themed around the beloved anime series for both survivors and killers. These new outfits will let players don the designs of characters like Dwight or the Armored Titan. A new Resident Evil crossover titled Project W was also teased during the livestream, with the upcoming collaboration likely adding a new killer and additional survivors from the long-running survival horror franchise.

While The Dredge, Attack on Titan cosmetics and another Resident Evil crossover will make for an exciting year, even more shocking Dead by Daylight content was announced during the livestream. During the stream Behaviour Interactive announced a Dead by Daylight dating sim, titled Hooked on You, which is set to release this summer. Taking players to Murderer’s Island, the bizarre title will let players flirt with brutal killers including The Trapper and The Spirit as they search for true love.

The Dead by Daylight 6th anniversary stream came with plenty of surprises, with The Dredge and Attack on Titan cosmetics being particularly shocking reveals. Another Resident Evil crossover is also fascinating, though right now little is actually known about the upcoming event. Despite entering its seventh year, Dead by Daylight shows no signs of slowing down.

Dead by Daylight is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PC and Google Stadia.
