He spent his young football career in the amateur club HVV de Zebra until 2003. After a year, he was admitted to the prestigious youth academy of Ajax. He made his debut for Ajax in the UEFA Champions League against Olympique Lyonnais. He played under 19 and XI while at A-junior level. On 5 August 2013, he made his debut in the Dutch Eerste Divisie against Telstar. On September 20, he scored his debut goal in a 1-2 win against FC Eindhoven.
