After the publication of the identifications Silence on set documentary and his public apology, Dan Schneider has allegedly not spoken to Nickelodeon about the censorship of his previous television shows.

“All those jokes you’re talking about [Quiet on Set] Covered over the past two nights, every one of those jokes was written for a child audience,” the now-infamous producer stated in response to the documentary’s accusation. “Because the kids thought they were funny, and only funny.”
Among the shows Dan Schneider created for Nickelodeon are The Amanda, Drake and Josh Show, Victorious, and Zoey 101. The new documentary explored the toxic environment Schneider allegedly created for several child stars over the years. Drake Bell, one of the former child stars, also spoke out about being sexually assaulted by dialogue coach Brian Peck.
A representative for Schneider also issued a statement about inappropriate jokes made on the producer’s shows. “Dan never intended to make any of those jokes that are now considered sexualized content,” the statement read. “Be more than just fun for children. Children don’t see things the same way adults do. The jokes were funny to the kids, and only funny. But now, 20 or 25 years later, adults see some of those jokes and look at them through adult lenses and that makes some people uncomfortable. So Dan thinks those jokes should be cut from reruns.”
Although Dan Schneider seemed sincere in wanting to censor his old television shows, The Hollywood Reporter He confirmed that the producer has not contacted Nickelodeon about such action.
The news outlet reported that Nickelodeon and other networks routinely air reruns of Schneider’s shows. Alexa Nikolas, who starred alongside Jamie Lynn Spears in Zoey 101, talked about the experience he had with Dan Schneider on the set of the Nickelodeon show. She noted that the wardrobe choices were chosen by Schneider and included miniskirts that she believes were “very short.”
