Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn are bringing star power to the Toronto International Film Festival 2023!
The two actors attended the premiere of their film. dad on Sunday (September 10) at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, Canada.
Dakota, who also produced the film, and Sean were joined by writer-director Christy Hall and producer Ro Donnelly.
Dakota “plays a woman who boards a New York taxi at the airport, driven by a man played by Sean. She is clearly worried and just wants to get home. She is a sidewalk philosopher. Immediately, he strikes up a conversation with her that starts with small talk and then gets bigger, deeper, and riskier as he takes her to her destiny.
Christy told IndieWire about making a film that takes place primarily in one location: “There are character-based chamber pieces in Hollywood, and we decided unapologetically that we were going to boldly be one of them. Who doesn’t want to see Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson up close for 94 minutes?
