Faces of Death, a remake of the iconic 1978 horror film produced by Legendary, will star Stranger Things’ Dacre Montgomery and Barbie Ferreira, one of HBO’s breakout stars of Euphoria.

The recreation is written and directed by Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber, the duo behind the 2018 psychological thrillers Cam and How to Blow Up a Pipeline.

Faces, a film released just as home video became popular, highlighted the idea of ​​a pathologist investigating gruesome ways of dying using footage allegedly gathered from around the world. Although most of the death scenes were staged, the film’s producers got exactly the reaction they wanted: outrage, disgust, ban (though not in 52 countries as the film’s creators claim) and, of course, anger.

Before leaving the hit TV series, Crossing the Lines of Euphoria after two seasons, Ferreira played high school student Kat Hernandez on the show. She has appeared in a number of films, including Jordan Peele’s thriller Nope and HBO’s travel drama Unpregnan. She recently finished filming the horror series House of Spoils for Blumhouse and Amazon Prime Video.
