Cyberpunk 2077’s initial launch was quite underwhelming, with countless bugs that made some players lose interest in the game – but many of those who stuck with it might look back on them with a particular fondness now that they’re gone. It’s undoubtedly for the best that things have been tightened up and the game is much more optimized, but at the same time, there’s no denying that some of these unintentional quirks were actually quite funny.
Originally set to release in April 2020, the game finally launched in December after multiple delays. The title had been in development for almost a decade, so many fans were anticipating it with high expectations, especially after being pushed back several months. Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077‘s launch, like other games’, was buggy, featuring technical issues such as poor stability/crashes, AI bugs in NPCs, and severe visual problems that made the game nearly unplayable. A lot of Cyberpunk 2077’s initial player base was understandably thrown off, and thus quickly gave up on the game after seeing the state it was in.
The game has seen significant improvements since then. CD Projekt Red has pushed out dozens of updates, hotfixes, and patches to resolve these issues, which have put the game in a much healthier (if imperfect) state. And while it has recently seen a massive resurgence in popularity, its rocky road to success has left a trail of memorable bugs and glitches that some Cyberpunk 2077 fans simply can’t – and maybe don’t even want to – forget.
Half Naked T-Posing While Driving Was A Classic Cyberpunk 2077 Bug
Though this Cyberpunk 2077 update made NPCs more realistic, at the end of the day, they are still no strangers to T-posing. It’s already weird enough to see random characters on the street assuming this menacing stance, with their legs still and their arms raised – but it’s even more jarring when it happens to the player themselves. In this hilarious glitch, when the player would attempt to get into a car or onto a motorcycle, V would instead T-pose above the vehicle with their bottoms off. This made for some rather interesting visuals, and while this bug has since been squashed, it will forever live on in the hearts of many Cyberpunk 2077 players. After all, it’s not often you get to stand atop a moving vehicle with everything out on display – even in Night City.
Cars Falling From The Sky In Cyberpunk 2077 Recalled Skyrim’s Flying Mammoth Bug
With a new Cyberpunk 2077 mod introducing flying cars, players can finally zip through the air in stylish, aerodynamic vehicles. But this bug shows their less classy, more accidental prototype. In a video posted by Sparooga, the player is cruising on their motorcycle in Night City when several cars start raining down from above. Even though flying cars are a playable, intentional reality for Cyberpunk 2077 fans now thanks to mods, there’s a certain charm to watching NPCs’ cars crashing down on top of each other like dominoes.
Johnny Silverhand Used To T-Pose Thanks Cyberpunk 2077 Bug
Last but certainly not least, this glitch proved to players that not even Johnny Silverhand, Night City legend, is immune to T-posing. The game has over 1000 different NPCs, all with unique behaviors, but it seems like many of them shared this hilarious animation error in common. This significant moment in Cyberpunk 2077‘s secret ending is ruined (or improved, arguably) when Johhny “asserts his dominance,” as Reddit user cyanide4suicide puts it.
Cyberpunk 2077 still struggles with various technical issues to this day, and it will likely take years for it to be completely bug-free, but each day brings CD Projekt Red closer to the intended state of the game. These glitches from the past serve as a reminder of the progress that’s been made so far, even though they might also remind players to enjoy them before they’re gone.
