Comedian Mark Normand ran off stage and comedy club was evacuated

Chaos erupted earlier this week at a New York club when comedian Mark Normand was dragged off stage during his act.

According to TMZ, Normand was in the middle of his performance on Wednesday, January 26 at the New York Comes Club when frenetic activity broke out in the crowd. As he immediately addressed the situation, Normand was seen being told to not only leave the stage but also evacuate the club. There was no explanation for what happened.

Following the strange situation, Mark Normand shared his thoughts on his Instagram Stories. “Some things happened tonight, my team is still trying to put the details together, I feel for the fans.”

In a statement on Instagram, The New York Comedy Club addressed the situation. “We have received some inquiries regarding a viral clip of the evacuation of our club last night. First of all, no one was hurt or hurt.”

The New York Comedy Club also said the interruption was part of filming by producers who rented the venue that night. “So, since this required a bit of a far-fetched narrative if you were present at this taping, we’d love to introduce you to a REAL, free show.”

Normand also said he had “no prior knowledge” that the situation was going to happen.

Meanwhile, Mark Normand began his Don’t say tour anymore on Friday, with back-to-back shows at New York City’s Beacon Theater on Jan. 26 and 27.

During an interview with the New York Post, Normand spoke about his tour. “Last night I did six sets. “I’m so aw…for the stage,” he said. “When I was in Baltimore, I did the 2,500-seat Lyric Theater and had a good set. “Then my friend said, ‘I know this bar show about 30 minutes away,’ and we did it.”

Mark Normand further explained the importance of offering an incredible experience to the audience. “You have to give people a show,” he continued. “They got a babysitter, put on a collared shirt and are trying to get laid. So you have to bring it, honey. Plus, I got a good bit about the cultural appropriation that’s really brewing. For me, if I can make people laugh on a sensitive topic, that’s what comedy is all about.”

Normand’s tour stops include Atlanta, Austin, Phoenix, Charleston and El Paso.
