Christina in the Country, HGTV’s new series, premieres Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The first episode, Take on Tennessee, features Christina Hall, a California-based designer and realtor, and her husband, Joshua Hall, as they restore, create, and modify a living space in Nashville, Tennessee. The six-part documentary series, a spin-off of HGTV’s Christina on the Coast, will follow Christina, her husband Joshua, their three children — Taylor, 11, Brayden, 6, and Hudson, 2 — and their French bulldog, Cash, as they settled in rural Tennessee to explore the world of design.
Christina’s official synopsis for the first episode of Country is as follows:
“When Christina launched her design agency in Tennessee, Josh asked her sister and husband to be Christina’s first clients; Christina redesigned their kitchen and living room, and experienced the countryside and nightlife in Nashville.”
Christina called her next project “the best project ever” in an Instagram post in November 2022. She said:
“I love Tennessee and it really became our second home. It’s a dream come true to be able to expand my design agency here and in California.”

The first episode of Christine in the Country will feature Joshua Hall’s sister as a client.
The show will star Christina’s third husband, Joshua Hall, a Texas real estate broker and former law enforcement officer who grew up in California and became a part of her life. Christina when the couple got married last April. The pair founded Unbroken Productions, a co-production company that co-produced the fourth season of Christina on the Coast. Christina in the Village will also co-produce with the company.
Tarek El Moussa and Ant Anstead, Christina’s former lover, will also appear in the sequel. The duo will feature in the program to design modern kitchens, spa-like bathrooms and unique living spaces for satisfied clients. Christina and her family will visit Nashville and all of its attractions, including berry picking, alpaca farm visits, horseback riding and dancing.
Joshua’s sister was the first customer to appear in episode 1 of the show.
Christina and her team, including fellow designer and project manager James Bender, will feature in the season opener as they transform an old property into a stunning new one.
According to a press release, Hall stated:
“It’s been a pleasure to co-produce this show with my husband and we’re so proud of it!” We have a great staff in both California and Tennessee, and I appreciate all the collaboration that has made it possible for two concerts to happen at the same time. I’m sure you’ll love this presentation as much as we did and you’ll love the South!
According to the HGTV website, the channel’s vice president of programming, Katie Ruttan-Daigle, explained the scope of the new series:
“Christina has won millions of passionate fans with her life on the West Coast during the three seasons of Christina on the Coast. Now, she’s ready to share her family’s new experiences and magnificent remodeling and design projects set in the beautiful Tennessee countryside. “We can’t wait to see what happens next for Christina in the countryside.”
Christina in the Country, produced by Balthazar Entertainment in association with Glass Entertainment Group and Unbroken Productions, will premiere this Thursday, January 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET on HGTV and Discovery Plus.
