- Diego Sinagra took his mother’s surname and was humiliated when it came to the media’s attention that he was Maradona’s child. Even after his paternity was recognized by an Italian court in 1993, his father Maradona did not recognize him. Father and son first met in 2003 during a golf tournament in Fiuggi, Italy. In 2007, Maradona reportedly admitted that Diego Sinagra was his son, but his lawyers denied this. In 2016, Maradona accepted Sinagra (Diego) as his son.

- Although it is believed that Maradona was the first to walk out of their relationship, in an interview Christiana said that it was she who broke up with him. Explaining his reason he said,
It was I who left when I realized there were too many people around us stopping us. I felt that the world around her was too big to overwhelm her, and could not leave room for our love. He left for the World Cup, later we also talked many times. He knew I was pregnant, Diego wanted us to be together.
