Chris Pontius is an American former professional soccer player. Chris Pontius played as an attacking midfielder for teams such as UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, Ventura County Fusion, DC United, Philadelphia Union and LA Galaxy.
Early life
Chris Pontius was born on May 12, 1987, and currently it is 36 years old. His full name is Christopher Richard Pontius. He was born in Yorba Linda, California, USA. However, he holds American nationality.

Later, in his college days, he was known as the Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2007 and a Hermann Trophy candidate in 2008. During his freshman year, he played in 20 of 21 games, starting five for the Gauchos.
He then scored his first career goal against Northwestern and finished the season with a total of three. In 2008, despite originally being included on the Ventura County Fusion roster along with other gauchos, he did not play any games for the club.
He was selected in the first round (7th overall) of the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by DC United. On March 22, 2009, he made his professional debut and scored his first professional goal in DC United’s first match of the 2009 MLS season against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
On 14 September 2012, DC United announced the signing of a long-term contract extension with the club, but the terms of the extension have yet to be revealed.
