Chirag Paswan is an Indian actor turned politician. He is from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). He is the son of late Indian politician from Bihar- Ram Vilas Paswan.

Chirag Paswan was born on 31 October 1983 (age 37 years; as in 2020). He is a graduate in B.Tech (Computer Science) from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. He was fond of acting since childhood. He used to participate in a lot of plays in his school and college. Chirag Mantri is a permanent resident of Ji Tola, Post- Saharbanni, Alauli, Khagaria, Bihar.
Family, Caste and Wife
Chirag Pawan belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community. His father, Ram Vilas Paswan, was one of the most prominent politicians of Bihar, who has served the Bihar state government and the Government of India in various capacities, as he was the Union Minister of various ministries including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Railways. Ministry of Mines, Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. His mother Reena Paswan is a housewife.
Chirag Paswan has a sister, Nisha Paswan.
Her half-sister Asha Paswan is also in politics, but represents the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Chirag has another step sister, Usha Paswan.

Chirag made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with the film “Mile Na Mile Hum”, but, when the film did not perform well at the box office, he decided to join politics.
Politics
After the failure of his first film, he decided to pursue a career in politics. In an interview he said that his father’s illness pushed him into politics. He also says that politics is his comfort zone, not Bollywood. Chirag made his debut in politics by contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha election from Jamui Lok Sabha seat and won by over 85,000 votes; Defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar.

- Member, Joint Committee on Enforcement of Security Interest and Debt Recovery Laws and Miscellaneous Provisions (Amendment) Bill, 2016
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he won the Jamui (SC reserved) seat for the second time by defeating Bhudeb Chaudhary of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) by 2,41,049 votes. On 5 November 2019, Chirag Paswan was unanimously elected as the new national president of Lok Janshakti Party.
