Career

Director Hark Bohm cast 11-year-old Uwe in the film ‘I Can Build an Ark Too’ in the year 1973. Similarly, in the year 1976, he played the lead role in Hark Bohm’s youth drama ‘Nordsee ist Mordsee’. And the director eventually adopted Uwe Enkelmann, who came from a troubled family, and brought him to Munich.

Uwe took Bohm’s name and worked with him on numerous films. In addition, he played a leading role in Hark Bohm’s Yasemin (1988), which was West Germany’s official submission for Best Foreign Film at the 61st Academy Awards.
