Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, have been enjoying quality time for weeks as the “Karma” singer enjoys a brief hiatus from her record-breaking Eras tour.
However, she will soon hit the road once again, and this time, her travels will take her further away from her current love than ever before. While her 2023 leg of the tour took her across the Americas, from New Jersey to California and all the way to São Paulo, South America, 2024 marks the start of her overseas tour.
Starting in February, Taylor Swift will spend most of the year greeting Swifties around the world, from Japan to Australia to Germany.
Unfortunately, their last show in Tokyo, Japan is just one day before the Super Bowl on the other side of the world in Las Vegas, Nevada. So what does this mean for Taylor Swift? Is a trip to the Super Bowl possible?
Okay, yes. But the pop icon will have a very some very busy days.
Is a Taylor Swift appearance at the Super Bowl possible?
Taylor Swift will end a four-night stay in Tokyo, Japan, on February 10, 2024. The Super Bowl will be the following night (February 11) in Las Vegas, Nevada, approximately 5,526 miles away.
Even with a luxury private plane, the situation will be difficult. However, thanks to the international date line, a Taylor Swift appearance at the Super Bowl is possible.
The International Date Line, an imaginary line between the North and South Poles, provides a boundary between one calendar day and the next. When traveling east over the line, as Taylor Swift would to the Super Bowl, the date decreases by one day.
This is how it will happen. Taylor Swift will perform in Tokyo on Saturday night. She will then board her private plane (which will hopefully have a bed fitted) for a direct flight from Tokyo to Las Vegas that doesn’t exist for us mere mortals.
As long as your 13-hour flight takes off before 6 pm Japan Standard Time on Sunday, it will land in Las Vegas before 3:30 pm PT, just in time for kickoff. A few days after the game, Swift will have to get back on another flight to perform at her February 16 show in Melbourne, Australia.
After the Super Bowl, Taylor Swift will be able to add “time traveler” to her already amazing resume. However, capturing her boyfriend’s big moment will surely be worth it (Swifties certainly think so).
