Takeshita doesn’t get lost in the melee with AEW’s best picks
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Takeshita’s presence in AEW so far is how comfortable he feels going up against the biggest names in the company. He’s proven he can do it on and offstage. This is a very promising sign for future AEW. Takeshita is too good to get lost in the chaos, even though the people standing next to him are the best in the world at what they do – MJF holding the mic and Bryan Danielson in the ring.
Which brings us back to next week gunpowder. Can AEW shock fans and give Takeshita an unbelievable win? Sure, but it made more sense for MJF to be strong for most of the match before he used a nasty tactic to win. This will enhance the storyline Khan is weaving between Friedman and Danielson, and also give Takeshita a close but not quite match with one of AEW’s top stars. Konosuke Takeshita will eventually target MJF and Danielson et al. It just might not happen next week.
