Towards the end of the chat, he was presented with a snippet of Girls Aloud star Cheryl‘s 2012 UK No. 1 hit, “Call My Name,” to which the radio hosts said they were surprised to learn he was involved in the song.

“Involved? Written, produced and mixed!” he clarified. “Every word, every word.”

“I can say this now because 10, 11 years has passed. The deal was Cheryl gets that tune if I get a vocal for ‘Sweet Nothing’ from Florence [Welch],” he revealed.

“I’m pretty sure that was the deal, ’cause it was the same label or something like that. I guess the A&R must have brokered the deal or whatever. ‘Call My Name’ came after ‘We Found Love,’ and it had a lot of similarity. They were desperate for that tune,” he continued.

He also revealed that a demo version of “Call My Name” exists with his vocals!
