Caitlin Clark Reportedly Nearing Eight-Figure Deal with Nike, Includes Exclusive Shoe

Basketball standout Caitlin Clark has been the sport’s top player for the past two seasons. This week, she was rewarded by being selected first overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Clark’s impact on the game is already being felt throughout the league. Teams have already started moving to larger venues to host the rush as demand for tickets increases.

Caitlin Clark seeks lucrative deal with Nike

The wins continue to pile up for Clark in his basketball career. The former Iowa Hawkeye is preparing to sign a deal with sneaker giant Nike. And he gets better. Rumor has it she will also get her own exclusive shoe as part of the endorsement deal.

She would join New York Liberty stars Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Lonescu as one of three WNBA players who currently have a signature shoe.

“[Caitlin Clark] is closing in on a lucrative eight-figure deal with Nike as its footwear company. I’m told Under Armor and Adidas also made significant offers,” NBA Insider Shams Charania reported during an episode of “Run it Back.”

Clark has certainly put more eyes on an already growing sport over the past two years. But her impact is felt beyond women’s basketball. Men are also starting to pay attention to the rising star.

Steph Curry tried to recruit a WNBA star

Clark has already received high praise from the likes of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. And another NBA All-Star is starting to take notice, too. According to Shams, Stephen Curry and Under Armor tried to poach Clark from Nike and convince her to join Curry’s brand.

“Stephen Curry was involved in the launch of Under Armor… but he won’t be signing there and will be official with Nike soon,” Shams added.

You can’t really blame Clark for turning down all of his other suitors to sign with an established brand like Nike. They already have some of the best athletes in the NBA, like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Plus the fact that his contract is “over $20 million,” according to Shams. A significant improvement over her $76,000 WNBA salary in 2024.

“I’m told it’s well over $10 million… I think it’s fair to say it’s over $20 million. Now how up? We will see when we have the final figures, I am not one to speculate,” she added.
