Bruce Lee was a noted martial artist, instructor, actor, director, screenwriter, producer and philosopher. Lee is considered the most powerful martial artist of all time and also a pop culture icon of the 20th century.
Early life
Bruce Lee was born Lee Jun-fan in November 27, 1940 in San Francisco, California, USA. His nationality is American, he is multiracial, and his zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Her parents’ names are Lee Hoi-Chuen and Grace Ho.
Bruce Lee’s father was a Cantonese opera star. His family went to Hong Kong when he was only 3 months old. He had 4 siblings, Agnes, Peter, Phoebe and Robert.
Despite coming from a wealthy family, he participated in numerous street fights and gang challenges which caused him to need martial arts training.
Lee learned the basics from his first instructor, who was his father. From the age of thirteen, he began receiving his Wing Chun training from Yip Man. Later, he also received training from Wong Shun Leung, thanks to his ancestors.

Education
Regarding his education, he attended La Salle College for his primary education. However, due to his poor grades, he was transferred to St. Francis Xavier’s College.
Due to his continued involvement in street fights, his parents were extremely distressed by his vicious behavior and wanted him to leave Hong Kong to live a safe and healthy life.
In 1959 he was taken to San Francisco for the same reason. After living a few months in San Francisco, he went to Seattle. There he entered the Edison Technical School to finish his further studies.

Death
In July 20, 1973, We lost a legendary martial artist, Bruce Lee, at the age of just 32. Before his death, he fainted in May 1973 and suffered seizures and a headache. Doctors diagnosed cerebral edema and were able to keep it under control.
But after a while, it happened again and caused Lee’s death. At that time, he was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It is discovered that he died from an allergic reaction caused by the element meprobamate. His body was buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle.

In 1964, he left college to join James Lee, a well-known martial arts teacher in Oakland. Together, they established another institute, Jun Fan Martial Art Studio in the city.
In 1064, he participated in the Long Beach International Karate Championships, making him famous for his “two-finger push-ups” and “one-inch punch.” There, he met Taekwondo master Jhoon Goo Rhee and built a good relationship.
Additionally, he performed at the 1967 event. In 1964, he had a private contest with Wong Jack Man, where he was the winner. Although the result of the match was declared unanimously, there are two versions of its development.
Lee’s surprising performance at the Long Beach Karate Competition brought him to the attention of Hollywood directors. His first time acting as an adult was in the 1966 to 1967 television series ‘The Green Hornet’.

From 1967 to 1969 he appeared as a guest on some television series such as ‘Ironside’, ‘Here Comes the Brides’ and ‘Blondie’. During his acting career, he also worked in martial arts.
He discovered that traditional martial arts skills were too rigid and that it was necessary to invent a new method that had qualities of practicality, flexibility, speed and efficiency.
In 1969, the actor was present as a guest in the film ‘Marlowe’. However, prejudice and a lack of main characters made him leave Los Angeles and move to Hong Kong in the summer of 1971.
Upon arriving in Hong Kong, he had already signed a contract for 2 films and they were ‘The Big Boss’ and ‘Fists of Fury’. In the 1972 film, ‘The Way of the Dragon’, he not only worked as an actor but also as a writer, director and choreographer of the fight parts.
Lee began working on ‘Enter the Dragon’ that same year, which was the first dual project for Golden Harvest and Warner Bros. It was scheduled for release on July 26, 1973, but just 6 days before its release, he died. On the other hand, the film made him considered a “hero” in the West.
Achievements
As for his additional accomplishments, Lee’s name was on Time magazine’s list of the “100 Most Influential People of the 20th Century.” He was honored with the important Founders Award at the 2013 Asian Awards.
That same year, a statue of him was made and displayed in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. The statue is 7 feet tall and was made in Guangzhou, China. Additionally, the statue proudly serves as a witness to Bruce Lee’s achievements as a martial arts teacher.
Brand endorsements
In 2008, Nokia used his old video tape on the cover of its online promotion. Mazda automobile did something similar in 2013 for its television commercial.
But, when whiskey brand Johnnie Walker launched its new television ads, it sparked some controversies. In the ad, they showed Lee revived (revived from childhood video tapes). These are the only brands they endorse that contain Bruce Lee.

The incredible martial artist was earning an incredible amount of money from his multiple careers. His income sources come from his career as an actor, martial arts, director, writer and many more.
Bruce Lee’s estimated net worth at the time of his death was $10 million. His last film grossed around $200 million worldwide. Furthermore, his house in Hong Kong was declared preserved and turned into a tourist spot by philanthropist Yu Pang-lin.

Lee met his wife, Linda Emery, at the University of Washington while they were students there. His wife at the time was a fellow student who wanted to be a teacher.
