Britney Spears opened up about several disturbing paparazzi photos of her with her first child, Sean Preston, in her memoir. The woman in me.
After giving birth to her son in 2005, paparazzi photographed the Princess of Pop, 41, with him sitting on her lap while driving.
While she was pregnant with her second child, Jayden James, additional photos emerged of her nearly falling while holding Sean Preston in her arms.
Both incidents were used by the press to suggest that she was a bad mother. However, Britney painted a different picture to explain why she found herself in those situations, describing “paparazzi aggression” as the “main danger” she faced at the time.

“Everything I did with babies was a chronicle,” Britney wrote, adding that the photos were used to show her in the worst light.
“When I drove to escape the paparazzi with Sean Preston on my lap, that was taken as proof that I was unfit,” he recalled, adding: “I was also cornered by the paparazzi who were with him at the Malibu Country Mart; “I continued taking photos while she, trapped, hugged him and cried.”
On the topic of when she was photographed stumbling while holding her son, Britney explained that she was trying to get into a car while facing a swarm of photographers. The photos don’t tell the whole story either.
“If you watch the video and not just look at the photographs, you can see that while I was carrying a glass of water in one hand and my baby in the other arm, my heel turned and I almost fell, but I didn’t. Do not fall. And when I held on, I didn’t drop the water or the baby, who, by the way, didn’t flinch at all,” she wrote.
Britney went on to describe her response: telling a photographer, “That’s why I need a gun.” She acknowledged that “it probably wasn’t very well received. But I was at my wits’ end.”
